NIFTY 50 MARKETS EOD DATA ( 13th July 2022 )
Indian shares ended Wednesday’s volatile trade lower due to sharp selling in financial and IT stocks. As the benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex fell more than 370 points to 53,514, the broader Nifty50 fell below the 16,000 mark, dropping over 90 points to 15,966.
In the MidCap indexes, the BSE MidCap rose 0.32 percent. HDFC Bank, IndusInd, ICICI Bank and others weighed on the banking index, Nifty Bank, which fell over 300 points, or 0.87 percent.
Fast-moving consumer goods and paint companies supported indices on expectations that crude oil prices may fall, easing input cost pressure.
Most Asian markets ended marginally higher, with China’s Shenzhen Composite and Shanghai Composite rising by 0.6 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.2 percent, while South Korea’s Kospi and Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 0.5 percent each.
